The DS-9500 is the new hero product in the Olympus product portfolio of mobile dictation devices for professionals who want to turn speech into text easy anytime and anywhere.

Thanks to its capability of sending dictations in an email via Wi-Fi and the support of audio codecs like PCM and MP3 it is very easy to get dictations sent to any dictation workflow software or speech recognition software.

Share your dictation anytime anywhere
Once the device is connected to a network via Wi-Fi you can send your dictation anytime anywhere. Thanks to the Wi-Fi connectivity Authors no longer need to carry a PC to download the dictations to the ODMS workflow. Since you can send the dictations via Wi-Fi at any time the device does not need to be physically connected to the docking station anymore.

Easy and secure management with ODMS software
The ODMS R7 software allows you to easily share your files with recipients. Prioritise highly important files.

Resilient in everyday dictation
Thanks to the robust housing and fabrication the device is very durable. Our tests confirmed that the DS-9500 continues its recording when falling off a desk and survived the tests without any impairments (drop tested up to 1.5m). Also the coating is alcohol resistant allowing you to clean the device hygienically.

Device PIN Lock
In addition to securing the data the DS-9500/9000 Device Lock feature protects the device from unauthorised access using a 4-digit PIN code making sure all data stays off limits to unauthorised individuals.

Intelligent Two-microphone System
The Intelligent Two-microphone System controls the directionality of each microphone for its intended purpose. For conference recording the system controls the directionally of the 2 microphones into a 90° layout which enables high quality recording in a realistic stereo feeling. Regardless of where the person speaking is located or the direction of speech you can clearly capture the information. DS-9500/9000 supports MP3 recording which is convenient when you want to share your conference recording with others.

High quality low-noise microphone unit
The new DS series incorporates low noise omni-directional microphones which are also used in our consumer flagship LS-P1 PCM recorders. The shock absorber which covers the microphone unit reduces touch noise from your hand to the body.

Studio grade Pop-Filter
The microphone housing now includes a triple layered pop-filter which blocks the wind noise generated from the mouth when talking into the microphones. Directionality Mode for Dictation
Having a strong directionality on the microphones is one of the key to achieve accurate speech recognition. Speech recognition accuracy is dependent on the signal-to-noise ratio of the recording which means that clearer voice and lower noise are the two factor for better recognition accuracy. The strong directionality works positively against the noise coming from the surroundings since this will enhance the voice while surrounding noise will be drastically reduced
